Diesel oil pollution gets more popular on pavements. In order to provide reference on prevention and maintenance for asphalt pavements, test analyses about performance loss were made on asphalt mixtures under diesel oil pollution and combustion. Through the viscosity test analysis, it was found that diesel oil pollution would reduce the viscosity of bitumen. It was also confirmed by boiling water method test that diesel oil pollution would reduce the adhesion between asphalt and aggregate. Compressive strength tests showed that there was a significant reduction under the liquid diesel oil pollution, while there was little effect under the gaseous remnants pollution. Hot asphalt mixtures experienced liquid diesel oil pollution before specimens were shaped according to Marshall Method, which were ready for freeze-thaw cycle. Freeze-thaw split tests showed that diesel oil pollution reduced the performance of water damage resistant of specimens. And short-time burning after diesel oil pollution did no reduction in the performance of water damage resistant of specimens. Cantabro tests were conducted using Los Angeles abrasion machine. It showed that burning would weaken the surface bonding performance of aggregates.
