Study on Temperature on Pavement Performance of Compound Cold Recycling Mixture

According to the composition analysis results and mix design of old asphalt pavement materials, the compound cold recycling technology was used to conduct the experimental study. The surface layer and the base course materials were mixed, the compressive strength, the cleavage strength, compressive resilience modulus of different types of mixture specimens were tested at different temperatures (20℃、 30℃ and 40℃ ) to analyze the rule and mechanism of road performance of cold recycling mixtures. The freeze-thaw performance of mixture was studied finally. The test results indicated that the compressive strength and the frost resistance of cold recycling mixtures can satisfy the highway base courses with dosage range of cement about 5%-6%;the strength of mixture decreases with increasing temperature, which is nearly linear relationship. The ordinary cement can be chosen for the pavement whose structures are not affected by temperature, otherwise slag cement is preferred.
