Nesscap commercialized metal oxide - activated carbon asymmetric hybrid type pseudocapacitors ranging from 20F to 10,000F in organic system as well pseudocap module prototype of 13V/1600F (150kJ). NESSCAP pseudocapacitors have energy density of 5 to 8.5Wh/kg and low internal resistance and good low temperature characteristics for high power applications. This properties are comparable to carbon based ultracapacitors(EDLC), excluding rather poor cycle life characteristic originated from batter-like energy storage mechanism. There are many opportunities for technological advancing. However, challenges remain, and the increase of rated voltage and cycle life time is needed to continue advancing.
