摘要

Different phases which exist in a duplex stainless steel (DSS) have an influence on mechanical as well as on electrical properties. Therefore, an eddy current (EC) technique can be utilized to detect phases inclusions. In order to evaluate and identify the amount of deleterious phases it is important to assess the impact of material's electromagnetic properties on a measuring signal. This paper presents a study on the influence of DSS properties changes caused by a sigma phase (σ) on signals from an EC transducer. Results of an analytical and numerical analysis are presented. The analytical modelling allows to identify the electromagnetic properties and evaluate the c phase amount in the sample.
