The paper presents results of considerations over irreversibility and arnnon-equilibrium character of phenomena that accompany ozonernsynthesis in silent discharges performed in real conditions. First of all,rnan equilibrium model of energy conversions occurring in an ozonizerrngap have been analyzed taking into account main phenomena thatrnaccompany the process. Thermodynamic and process driving forces ofrnthe main phenomena have been analyzed as well as their effect onrnquantities that are characteristic for the basic process course and alsornprimary and secondary phenomena at the ozone generation processrnhave been indicated.rnIn the second part of the presented research work based on conclusionsrnfollowing from the considerations concerning ozone production in thernconditions of non-isothermal plasma a basis for a model ofrnirreversibility and a non-equilibrium character of the process has beenrnformulated with a postulate of a local thermodynamic equilibrium takenrninto account.
