This paper describes a combined photovoltaic (PV)-wave power generation system, called COMBI, to be sited near shore and to supply emergency power for process sensors and critical safety valves during a complete station blackout (SBO). The COMBI has been conceptualized for generating both AC and DC power, by the utilization of renewable energy such as ocean sunlight and waves.
