摘要

The design, fabrication principles and techniques, properties, and practical application of a super-elastic, Nitinol rhombic mesh esophageal stent are introduced in this paper. This superelastic esophageal stent can self-expand to the primary position rapidly and sustain the esophagus. The results in accurate placement and stent-to-wall apposition, promoting the restoration of ductal patency, are excellent. More than 2000 patients have used the stent. All the operations have required one placement only, and no accidents or complications have occurred during or after the operations. The stent implantation is very simple, convenient, safe, and comfortable to the patient. The rate of success is greater than 99% and the rate of effectiveness is 100%. No toxicity or side effects have been seen.
