Extraction of Residual Solvents in Cefpodoxime Proxetil

Extraction of residual solvents in oral drug-Cefpodoxime proxetil(CPD) was carried out by liquid and supercritical CO2. High pressure soxhlet equipment was used to use liquid CO2 as extracting solvent and in the supercritical extraction, CO2 was supplied continuously instead of recycle. The residual solvent contents were examined with extraction time. Pressure and temperature conditions controlled by heat input variation did not contribute to the degree of extraction. The results were analyzed by gas chromatography.
