摘要

Modification of the tooth geometry for precision cycloidal drive is considered. The new geometry profile provides that only 3~4 pairs of teeth [1,2] are in mesh at every instant, and to eliminate backlash that occur in the case of a conventional cycloidal pin wheel drive. A novel tooth geometry modification program is developed by virtual modeling of the gear cutting process in which an ellipse shaped grinding wheel is used to machine the designated tooth profile. The real meshing process is represented analytically and is illustrated conceptually.
