Nd-Fe-B dielectromagnets i.e. bonded magnets from the powder of melt-spun ribbon from Nd-Fe-B alloy, find uses in a widening range of applications. They are applied In motorization, house appliances, the aviation industry, and in medicine. Because of the many different areas of applications, permanent magnets work under many different conditions. Working factors such as humidity, temperature or vibration can change the physical characteristics of permanent magnets. The resistance to environmental factors of the sintered or cast permanent magnets depends mainly on the kind of hard magnetic material of the magnet. The resistance of ferrite magnets is different than the resistance of sintered SmCo_5. In the case of dielectromagnets an additional factor which has an affect on the resistance to environmental conditions is the resistance of resin bonding hard magnetic powders. The most frequent type of bonding material in dielectromagnets is epoxy resin. The resistance of this type of resin is not efficient in many applications. The main goal of our research is to find the correlation between the type of resin and the resistance to environmental factors of Nd-Fe-B dielectromagnets. The results presented in this paper will help the designer of electrical equipment to choose the right permanent magnet for the right appliance.
