An Approach For Describing User Service Interfaces in Distributed Systems

In this paper, we present a new approach for describing user service interfaces and discovering them at run time in distributed systems. We have designed an interface repository based on ontologies that allows us to index and store the properties of user service interfaces. We can query information from this repository by using a logic language and then invoke dynamically the service operations via the DII (Dynamic Invocation Interface) interface of CORBA. One of our design criterion is to ensure compatibility with existing solutions provided by distributed environments (e.g, CORBA).
