Efforts in Progress to Establish Nuclear Security Education in Morocco

Morocco has developed its organizational and institutional structures to ensure promotion andrndevelopment of nuclear technology, it has strenghtened his legislative and regulatory framework by adoptingrnrecently a new law on radiological and nuclear safety and security and the creation of the agency to ensure theirrncontrol. Morocco benefiting from the the support of IAEA, US(DOE), C.E has established a Nuclear SecurityrnSupport Center (NSSC) which is operational and provides national and regional training courses on nuclearrnsecurity. Furthermore, Moroccan universities provide many efforts to introduce nuclear security concepts inrntheir curricula with the support of national and international organizations. At our university, there is an existingrnMaster program on Nuclear Techniques and Radiation Protection which provides knowledge and know-howrndirectly used in the various sectors using nuclear techniques and requiring radiation protection of workers,rnpublic and environment. Some efforts are deployed currently by the master staff to expand this program byrnintroducing some modules on nuclear security benefeting from the suport of our partners and participating torninternational Professional Development Courses, workshops and meetings on nuclear security held under thernauspices of IAEA, PNS, WINS and others institutions.
