Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Cneter (PSNC) is one of the five supercomputing centers in Poland. The computing infrastructure in PSNC consists of the following systems: CRAY J916 (3,2 GFLOPS peak performance, 16 processors), CRAY Y-MP/EL (-,5 GFLOPS, 4 processors), IBM SP2 (3.9 GFLOPS, 15 nodes), SGI POWER CHALLENGE XL (2,4 GFLOPS, 12XR8000 processors), the communication services server CHALLENGE L (6xR4400 prcessors), the network file server Auspex NS 7000/500 (180 GB disk space), data archive server basedon tape library ACL 2640 with 2 TB capacity and magnetooptical disk library HP 165ST with 165 GB capacity and UniTree management software. Visualisation laboratory is another integral part of our computing environment. It consists of three SGI INDY workstations, five SGI INDIGO2 workstations with additional devices, such as Gallileo Video, and SGI ONYX System. All the systems are connected via high technology communication structure which consists of FDDI network, used mainly by users to access the cmputing reosurces via MAN, ATM network for graphical and multimedia applications and HiPPI network dedicated for distributed, parallel computing in the cluster of supercomputers.
