Waterproofing technique for a sand dam on sand foundation using geomembrane

摘要

The paper introduces a dam project on a river. The dam can only be built using fine sand, because the surrounding area and the foundation are all covered with sand. In seepage prevention design, the geomembrane is adopted. The paper presents the design method and the structure details. The dam was completed in 1994 and has successfully performed for ten years.
