Higher order Boussinesq-type equations for wave propagation over variable bathymetry arernderived. With enhancements of the finite order Taylor expansion for the velocity field, thernaccuracy of the local velocity distribution has been improved and the application range ofrnthe present model is extended to ∇h ~ O(1) for slope bottom. For linear properties, somernvalidation computations of linear shoaling and Booij’s tests are carried out. The problemsrnof wave-current interactions are also studied numerically to test the performance of thernenhanced Boussinesq equations associated with the effect of currents. All theserncomputational results confirm perfectly to the theoretical solution as well as otherrnnumerical results available.
