The AXSUN LIGA Foundry: Progress in Commercialization

Five years ago, Axsun Technologies set out to develop a captive commercial LIGA (HARMST) manufacturing capability dedicated solely to the production of innovative alignment structures used in the assembly of micro devices for fiber optic communications. Today, the LIGA business has grown into a multi-million dollar commercial foundry producing devices and components for a growing number of defense and civilian customers. This presentation takes a look back (including some lessons learned), summarizes the state of the business today, and outlines strategies for further accelerating the commercialization of our LIGA capabilities.
