摘要

Separator shutdown is recognized as an important aspect of Li-ion battery safety; however, little research has been conducted on changes in separator morphology that take place during shutdown. In this study, the process by which a polyethylene separator shuts down in different liquid electrolytes was investigated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) techniques. The thermal responses indicated a considerable influence of polymer-electrolyte interaction at elevated temperatures.
