An overview is given on recent progress in 1.5 μm quantum dot lasers and amplifiers mainly addressing the temperature stability in static and dynamic properties. High characteristic temperatures and record values in modulation speed (35 GBit/s at RT and 26 GBit/s at 80°C) were obtained.
