The zero-voltage switched (ZVS) technique can lower the converter switching loss and increase the conversion efficiency and power density. This paper proposed an improved PWM scheme with ZVS operation for three-phase isolated matrix rectifier. The presented PWM scheme removed two hard-switch actions at existing PWM scheme and permits all 12 MOSFET devices to be turned on under ZVS. The operation principles and steady-state analysis of the converter are addressed. The proposed ZVS operation of MOSFET switches is analyzed and operating states during switch transitions is stated. The switching loss comparison between existing and proposed PWMs is discussed. The ZVS operation of proposed PWM scheme is verified by both simulation and experimental results.
