The interactions between free-surface flows and objects areimportant engineering subjects, such as the dynamic responsesof floating elastic structures against wave motions and the fluidresistance forces of the flexible mound attached to the sea floor.In the present study, the fluid forces acting on the rigid andelastic objects are calculated. The rigid and elastic objects arerepresented by rigid model (Ushijima and Kuroda 2008) and elasticmodel, respectively. These objects are treated with tetrahedronelements and these two types of solid model are introducedinto the MICS (Multiphase Incompressible flow solver with Collocatedgrid System) (Ushijima et al. 2006). Through the experimentson the wave flows acting on the partly submerged rigidand elastic plates, these prediction methods are examined.
