This paper presents a new methodology tocalculate transportation costs in a long onshore pipe for different'strategic' gases, particularly methane, hydrogen and carbondioxide. Firstly, we state a physical model of fluid flow in apipe. Secondly, we consider economic equations model capexand opex according to the pipeline design. The optimisationsearches for a global minimum cost of the pipeline design interms of diameter, thickness and number, position, power of thecompressors. The optimisation procedure searches for a globalminimum. We present some user cases, particularly comparisonof unit transport costs for the three fluids.
