In an attempt to enhance secondary electronemission characteristics of PDP, 12CaO.7Al2O3electride was used as electron emission layer ofPDP discharge cells. The compound wassynthesized by Ca-treatment and its electronemission behavior during the glow discharge wasmeasured. The results indicated that the spayedelectride reduces the discharge voltage by ~20volts and decrease the discharge delay by morethan 70%.
