Information Systems Outsourcing Success- A Perspective of Information Processing Theory

The majority of research in IS outsourcing has either addressed the success or failures associated with IS outsourcing or examined it via transaction cost economics and strategic management theory, very few studies in IS outsourcing has examined it from the perspective of Information Processing Theory. Thus, this study examined IS outsourcing success on the basis of Information Processing Theory. We collected 216 questionnaires to validate the proposed hypotheses. The statistical analysis proved our hypotheses and bring the following findings. First, fit between task uncertainty and structural mechanism is significantly related to IS outsourcing success while second the negative moderating power of organizational dynamism on the relationship between IS outsourcing success and the fit between task uncertainty and structural mechanism is confirmed. The discussions and implications are provided in the end of this article.
