In the northwest of Côte d’Ivoire, the use of remote sensing for the study of aquifers derived from fractures and the interpretation of induced permeabilities resulting from those fractures using a Geographical Information System (GIS) shows that 36% of lineations are oriented 60 ° N and 32% 130° N. High flow rate-drillings were located 29% of the time within the NESW fractures compared to 22% for fractures oriented N-S which are less used under village water supply conditions.Within GIS, the main megafractures corresponding to undeground corridors of water flow within the fractures were identified. The superposition of the induced permeabilities map with that of drainage densities reveals the relationship existing between surface water and undergroud water at the junction of the megafractures. The accesbility, exploitability, and the yield indices of the aquifers in the region established from a combination of different factors (probabilty of success of the different wells, depth of extraction, piezometer level, and exploitation flow) reveal areas favorable to the implantatation of water drillings in the basement
