Multi Criteria Decision Making methods for Information System Selection: A Comparative Study

摘要

The aim of this paper is to present the application of six Multi-Criteria Decision Making techniques to evaluate information system success. These methods are Weighted Sum Method (WSM), Weighted Product Method (WPM), Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), Revised AHP, technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and Simple Multi-Attribute Ranking (SMART), which are applied to a set of ten alternatives. The criteria are chosen from DeLone and McLean information system success model. Therefore, the results of this application show that sophisticated method such as TOPSIS is better than the others used methods in terms of selection and evaluation even if we applied the same problem and implemented the same maker's preferences.
