Human skeleton is the supporting construction offering attachment parts for muscle. Fracture destroys integrity or continuity of the skeleton, and results in discontinuity offeree transition and obstruction of blood circulation. If fracture is not promptly and reasonably diagnosed and treated, some fracture complication often occur, even can cause deformity and death of the patient. So, the medical expert system on intelligent diagnosis and treatment of fracture is built. The system overcomes many factors and limits created by men, having some advantages, such as no-cut, swiftness, good resetting, low incidence of fracture complication. Structure method of the system is first put forward. Mixed intelligent diagnosis technique is used, based rule reasoning, case reasoning and fuzzy set theory. A novel case representation method is advanced and is used to represent medical record of the fracture patient. Comparison of cases is transferred into calculation of similarity of fuzzy set. On the basis of deep-going study to knowledge including digital image processing theory, pattern recognition technique and basic medical science, a novel features extraction plan is first raised for femoral-neck fracture to reset automatically. The plan is to extract nine points, six lines, two angles and one distance from X-ray image of femoral-neck fracture of patient as the most important basis for fracture resetting.
