This paper presents an application of the Coordinated-Control (COC) of power system stabilizers (PSSs) and FACTS controller, taking Series Vectorial Compensator (SVeC) as an example. The aim is to enhance the damping of low frequency oscillations for different values of the line compensations in multi machine networks. The SVeC can vary the reactance of a network through the variation of the duty cycle of AC link. Due to this reason a novel device is proposed and incorporated in the network. SVeC is a recently developed series FACTS device. The Western System Coordinating Council (W.S.C.C) is used for comparison purpose. The effectiveness of the proposed COC is checked by eigenvalue analysis and nonlinear - model simulations under normal load operation. The net results show that COC of SVeC and PSS can offer better damping characteristics at differnt levels in series compensated ac systems.
