High speed screening technology in a grinding and flotation circuit

The basic function of the classifier in closed circuit grinding is to remove the fines from the circuit and to return the coarse material to the mill. The fines removal effectiveness of milling circuits is closely related to performance of the classification equipment. Derrick's high speed - low amplitude screening technology has been used successfully in several mineral grinding circuits for more than four decades on fine screening applications. Derrick screens have replaced several other types of classifiers producing significant higher classification efficiency. This results in less overgrinding, higher mill capacities, and recovery of valuable minerals. This article reviews the unique features of Derrick's High Speed Screening Technology and its application at Esan's Feldspar processing plant in Milas, Turkiye.
