The professional development school (PDS) represents a collaborative framework between high schools and teacher training institutions. The main objective of the PDS is to deepen the student teachers' involvement in the school, to expose them to the variety of teacher work tasks, and to provide them with a wide range of experiences. This paper focuses on the development and implementation of a computer science (CS) student teacher practicum program that takes place within the PDS framework. We present the significant advantages that can be gained using PDS principles and demonstrate different activities performed in order to gain them within the training of CS student teachers. The paper reflects the accumulative knowledge acquired over the past five year at the Beit Berl College. Israel. We believe that this paper will contribute to the community of CS teacher preparation educators.
