As a high-tech product, inverter is used in plenty of industrial fields. We developed an experimental sample machine, with FPGA and high-voltage MOS gate driver adopted. This paper presented the main structure and functional modules of this variable frequency speed adjusting system based on FPGA. Furthermore, the method of implementing VVVF strategy on a FPGA chip is introduced in detail, including modulation wave generation module, carrier wave generation module, control signal generation module and protection signal processing module. Simulation results of some functional modules in Quartus II valid the correctness of this design. And system experiment results are supplied at the end, which prove the feasibility of implementing the variable frequency speed adjusting system for induction motors on a monolithic ship-FPGA.
