Based on a pure electric vehicle power system and battery box arrangements, static and modal performance sensitivity analysis of the vehicle passenger compartment floor assembly was conducted. The results showed that the floor strengthening beams contributed little to the vehicle performances, which indicated the necessity of floor beam redesign. The topology optimal design of floor strengthening beams was accomplished. The optimized beam based on variable density method improved vehicle performances significantly without any mass increment.
