Almost daily, media headlines report more high-tech crimes against American companies. Electronics manufacturers, assemblers, and distributors, among others, are increasingly becoming the targets of criminals intent on stealing components, finished products and intellectual assets. According to the Chubb Group, these crimes are costing the American electronic industry $8 billion annually with this amount increasing to $200 billion by the year 2000.
