Oxygen Dosing devices are designed to deliver oxygen only during Inspiration phase of Respiration cycle. In previous works they used pressure sensors to identify inspiration phase. In this paper the Oxygen dosing device is designed in such a way that it can work along with patient monitoring system in order to obtain respiratory impedance pneumography signal using two ECG(Electro Cardio Gram) electrodes placed over chest region and SPO2(Saturation Pressure of Oxygen) to measure oxygen saturation in blood. The impedance pneumography signal is used for identifying inspiration phase of that patient. When patient breath in the impedance pneumography signal varies which is identified by controller and at the same time patients SPO2 is also measured to monitor the FIO2(Fraction of Inspired Oxygen) level all the time while delivering the oxygen and oxygen dose is given according to the patients FIO2 level. It utilizes the proportional flow control valve to open flow accordance to the FIO2 sense from patient. The proportional flow control valve is controlled by microcontroller. This setup can also be used for monitoring Apnea. If inspiration has not been sensed for ten seconds while recording an impedance pneumography signal an alarm will ring. In this work a pressure sensor is used to detect whether oxygen cylinder is opened and sufficient pressure is there in order to provide it for patient. And also along with this a low battery indication is also provided using LED. The advantage of this oxygen dosing device designed here is no chance of falls triggering in the system and it can be used for all types of patients.
