In the present research, a new Adaptive fuzzy terminal sliding mode controller (AFTSMC) was proposed to obtain the Maximum Power Point Tracking of Photovoltaic (PV) power system. This controller contains a terminal sliding mode controller, a fuzzy controller, and an adaptation law. There are some advantages for this suggested controller such as system tracking error decreasing to zero in finite time, non dependence to precise system model, reducing the chattering of input controller. Also, it could adjusted the parameters of the fuzzy rule-base to obtain a good results with the presence of the disturbances. Simulation results illustrate the better performance of AFTSMC in comparison with a Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) and perturb and observe method (P&O).
