Wind energy offers numerous points of interest, which clarifies why it is one of the quickest developing energy sources on the planet. Research attempts are directed at addressing the difficulties to greater utilization of wind energy. That is why micro-wind turbines are emerging as one of the most promising technologies in the energy system field. To ensure the safety of these emerging systems, a control system with a fail-safe shutdown capability must be implemented, guaranteeing that the wind turbine is adequate for operation. This paper presents the design and implementation of a control system capable of generating a constant output voltage to a variable-resistive load. The proposed control system can shut down the turbine during an emergency situation.
