New Antivibration Track System for Subways

摘要

Metropolitana Milanese S.p.A. is an Italian company with a wide experience in the construction of subways. In Italy there are big demands of rail transport systems due to their low presumed environmental impact; more precisely it can be said that, on one hand, chemical pollution is reduced to a practical minimum but, on the other hand, the noise and vibration emissions remain a relevant impact factor. Metropolitana Milanese S.p.A. has dealt with this subject for decades and it has gained a valuable experience in track laying. This is the field in which the new antivibration track system for subways was born. It has been developed with attention not only to vibration reduction but also to maintenance problems. The present paper describes all the development aspects dealt with until now and some further likely future improvements.
