摘要

The Bios Data Analyzer is a collection of computer programs for the analysis of time series. It implements an empirically and theoretically based process method to identify creative patterns. The process method provides operational measures of diversification, novelty, and non-random complexity, features of creative processes that differentiate them from both conservative and attractive processes. Bios, a pattern found in biological, economic, and other natural processes, is a paradigmatic example of configurations generated by creative processes. Biotic patterns occur in many natural processes suspected up to now to be random or chaotic. The Bios Data Analyzer places these techniques in the hands of other scientists and professionals. Empirical examples illustrate potential scientific and medical applications.
