Slope stabilisation using soil nail is a common technique used to stabilise the failed natural andrnmanmade slopes. Generally shotcreting over the slope surface will be provided to prevent surface erosion and tornprovide anchor effect to the soil nails. Alternative method by covering the stabilised slopes with metallic / nonrnmetallic nets along with top soil to facilitate vegetation has few limitations on steep slopes. In recent past, gridrnbeam system to protect the slope surface and to anchor the soil nails was successfully used in Japan to stabilisernnatural slope, which is environmental friendly and sustainable. This paper presents a case history of a grid beamrnsystem, which was used successfully to repair and stabilise a failed embankment slope.
