Failure Handling in CORBAflow: A CORBA-based Transactional Workflow Architecture

Transactional workflows have been previously specified using commercially-available workflow management systems (WFMSs). WFMSs have facilitated this specification by providing task coordination and execution capabilities. However, these current WFMSs have limitations in terms of heterogeneous distributed system integration, non-proprietary cross-platform support, and flexible ACID property support. A key weakness is their lack of recovery support which is a critical requirement for most WFMSs.
