Strength and reliability characteristics (strength of joint and level of residual stresses) of dual compounds TiC-cermet+steel (in relation to WC-hardmetal +steel) produced by diffusion bonding (diffusion-welding and diffusion-brazing) complemented by EPMA were investigated. It was found that in respect to joint reliability and adaptility to manufacture, TiC-cermet (with Ni-steel binder) - base compounds have an advantage over WC-base ones.
