摘要

Biocompatibility in the field of bone related biomaterials is most of the times understood as the ability of osteoblasts to attach to the surface and to produce calcium phosphate minerals and collagen matrix. Recently a very different approach has emerged which takes into account the complex signalling interaction within the bone and bone cells and which ties osteoclastic differentiation and resorption to the anabolic activity of osteoclasts.
