Conductive polymers such as polypyrrole are an emerging candidate for tissue engineering applications, because they have shown to be biocompatible, they can transmit mechanical and electrical stimuli in addition to providing physical support to the cells [1,2]. The electrochemistry and charge of biomaterial surface has been demonstrated to influence on cell adhesion [3]. However, so far no studies of the effects of electrical charge on adult stem cell attachment and viability have been done. The aim of this study was to demonstrate stimulative effect of specific electrical surface charges of polypyrrole-hyaluronic acid samples on adipose stem cell (ASC) adhesion.
