REFMAP: Restructuring by Feature Mapping

摘要

Architectural migration is the restructuring of a software system and/or its data to a new architecture, usually as provided by a new platform or software technology. The paper studies the practical problems of replacing "old" with "ew" technology while preserving the features and to the extent possible the architecture of an "old" (legacy) application. We propose a reengineering process of constructing a "mapping" between feature implementations on the old and the new platforms, and support that process with a tool.
