Environmental Impact Assessment Study for the Development of A Sanitary Landfill in the South

摘要

This paper presents the Environmental Impact Assessment study for the development of a sanitary landfill in the Sour region, south Lebanon. A systematic approach to developing a basic understanding of the environmental problems and a methodology to assess the scope and magnitude of environmental damage that may be caused by sanitary landfill construction was followed. The study concluded that the adverse impacts associated with sanitary landfill can be mitigated through proper remedial measures, monitoring techniques and technological advances.
