A Study on Mechanism for Investment in and Financing Ecological Restoration in Mentougou, Beijing

摘要

Although there are many progresses with respect to economic development, Mentougou still faces various challenge. One of such challenges is the need for the restoration of deteriorated and damaged ecosystems. Due to economic transformation, local people have to find employment and income generating opportunities for a better livelihood without damages to the environment. The main ecosystem problem as follows; 1. With the mineral industry was shut down, some workers lost their jobs; this brings huge pressure to local government; 2. The damaged ecosystem brings more danger to local people ; 3. The industrial infrastructure is not in reason; 4. The local peoples live level is lower; 5. The re -job ability of local people is low.
