Physical Properties of Granites from the Variscan Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad) Massif (Czech Republic)

Density and magnetic susceptibility of granite samples from a complex Variscan massif in NW Bohemia were measured in laboratory. Minor differences between two main intrusive suites depend on the position in sequence of magma emplacement, on granite composition, and on deuteric alterations. Similar differences are also shown by the data on radioactivity of granites. Subtle differences of these parameters should be considered in geophysical interpretations.
