Abstract: The recording of the hologram in the optical scanning holography (OSH) proposed by T.C. Poon is a process in which a Fresnel zone plate (FZP) is used to scan the object, but since the spacing between two adjacent rings of FZP at the center portion is greater than that at the edge portion, the resolution capability of the system, which can resolve the edge portion of the FZP, is not fully exploited. The fact that a circular grating (CG) has uniform spacings everywhere, enlightens us to suggest the CG optical scanning holography. It has been found that the optical transfer function of the system equals the Fourier transform of the intensity transmissivity of the projecting circular grating, and the point spread function of the system equals to a $delta function. Also given in this paper are the principles of the CG optical scanning holography and the computer simulations. !4
