The pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics oftopotecan (TPT) entrapped in a novel hydrogelwere investigated in rats. Controlled release wasachieved by entrapping TPT liposomes in thehydrogel, which resulted in constant blood levels(10 ng/mL). In addition, tumor growth wassignificantly reduced without causing toxic sideeffects.
