Increasingly, urban rail transit has become the focus of Social EconomicrnDevelopment. This is encouraging comprehensive evaluations of urban railrntransit which will enhance operation efficiency. This paper sets up an analysisrnmodel of an urban rail transit arrangement based on the application of the Delphirnand Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and analyzes the shortcomings of AHP.rnFurthermore, this paper proposes a design of a more comprehensive and morernscientific evaluation index system of urban rail transit performance assessment.rnThe proposed system calculates every index weight using the weighting method --rnGl – which is based on the differential principle. It appraises comprehensivernperformance using a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. Verification of thernproposed system was done by conducting an experiment using the Shanghai railrntransit systems to measure its performance status. Results provide the theoreticalrnfoundation for the development and correction of the Shanghai urban rail transitrnsystem.
