Fabric filtration research - a personal retrospective with comments on new developments

Fabric filtration research with which the author has had close involvement for nearly 40 years is highlighted. Pilot plant testing of many commercial filter designs including the Hersey reverse jet unit was carried out at the Harvard School of Public Health during the 1950-1960 period under USAEC sponsorship.
